Abyssus FAQ

Common questions about Abyssus and this site. For anything else, see the contact page.

What is Abyssus?

Abyssus is a brinepunk co-op roguelite first-person shooter by DoubleMoose Games (published by The Arcade Crew). You descend through randomised rooms to the deepest Depths, mastering weapons, Aspects, Blessings and Charms run after run.

Is Abyssus co-op?

Yes. Abyssus supports 1–4 players. It can be played solo, but it is designed around co-op — enemy counts scale with player count, so AoE weapons like the Tesla Gun and Plasma Launcher shine in a full squad.

How many weapons are in Abyssus?

There are 9 weapons: Engine Rifle, Shotgun, Tesla Gun, Brine Revolver, Disc Thrower, Combat Bow, Plasma Launcher, Fish Deity and Harpoon Gun. Each has three primary and three secondary fire modes plus weapon-specific Ancient Forge upgrades.

What is the best weapon in Abyssus?

The current community consensus S-tier picks are the Disc Thrower, Tesla Gun, Plasma Launcher and Brine Revolver. The Tesla Gun is the easiest to use and the best solo pick; the Brine Revolver is the top boss-killer. See our tier list for the full ranking and reasoning.

What are Aspects and Blessings?

Aspects are the ten damage/effect archetypes (Fire/Flares, Chain Lightning, Blood, Goldburst and more). You slot one Aspect each into your primary weapon, secondary weapon and ability. Collecting Blessings from the same Aspect strengthens it — 3 grants a Minor upgrade, 6 a Major one.

What platforms is Abyssus on?

Abyssus is available on PC via Steam. For the latest on console availability and crossplay, check the official Steam store page.

Is this the official Abyssus website?

No. Abyssus Builds is an unofficial, community-run fan resource. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by DoubleMoose Games or The Arcade Crew. All game names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

How do I share a build?

Open the Build Creator, pick your weapon, Aspect, Charms and Forge mods, then hit “Copy shareable link”. Anyone who opens the link sees your exact loadout — great for Reddit or Discord.

How often is the data updated?

Weapon, Aspect, Charm and enemy data is community-sourced and updated as balance patches land. If you spot something out of date, let us know via the contact page.
